On April 22, the province of Pampanga, 60km northwest of Manila was hit by a 6.1 magnitude earthquake, killing 16 people in a collapsed supermarket. Since then, further earthquakes have been felt across the Philippines including a 6.1 magnitude tremor in Eastern Samar and a 4.7 quake 50kms southeast of General Luna.
